Beaches for Dogs

Woody the Schnoodle and his Schnoodle Mummy have just come back from a walk on the beach.

Sadly in the UK dogs are banned from many beaches and the ones that don’t ban dogs can be few and far between.

Woody and I are fortunate that we live a stones throw from a beautiful beach and a daily walk to play with the stones is a daily occurance for us.

Don’t get me wrong I do understand that some irresponsible dog owners have made it necessary to ban dogs from family beaches.  This summer in our area proved a very strong case in favour of banning dogs from certain beaches.  A 7 year old child was very badly bitten and held under the water by an agressive, uncontrolled and unleashed Rottwieler.   Read the rest of this entry »

Schnoodle Hybrid Dog

Jasper the Schnoodle puppy

The Schnoodle is an affectionate, confident, family friendly dog.  Being keen to please he is an easy to train dog with high intelligence.  A devoted companion, he often wants to be a lap dog.

Paying with a ball or Frisbee is a very rewarding game for both the Schnoodle and owner.  Making this a part of his exercise routine can be fun for all involved.  Schnoodles are inquisitive of other dogs and often approach with little fear but rarely show aggression towards other dogs. As a puppy Woody looked just like a teddy bear.  As a teddy bear lover this was the perfect dog for me, my real own living teddy bear schnoodle.

Sneezing

Now, I am not professing to be an expert in allergies to dogs but I have tried to find out as much info as I can about some of the causes, based on the research of professional allergists.

Contrary to belief, most allergies to dogs are not as a result of the dog hair but to proteins found in the saliva and secretions from skin glands, this is deposited to the hair by licking and being released into the air. Read the rest of this entry »

One of my close friends took a look over my site today and commented on my description about Schnoodles being hypoallergenic.

The jury is out on this one, depending which article you read on the internet some say cross breeding from a poodle and a schnauzer will almost certainly create a hypo allergenic dog suitable for allergy sufferers.   Read the rest of this entry »
