Obi the Police Dog
As a result of the ‘August’ riots across the UK 217 Police personnel were injured along with 1 Police dog, Obi.
Obi, a GSD, was injured by a flying missile launched by looting yobs and suffered multiple skull fractures requiring emergency surgery to save his life. Despite his life threatening injuries the 3 year old dog continued to stay by the side of his handler, PC Phil Wells for a further 2 hours.
PC Wells has had Obi since he was an 8 week old pup and describes the dog as ‘his best mate’.
Obi is expected to make a full recovery from his terrible ordeal but he will face months of recuperation at home.
We wish Obi a speedy recovery.
